Comprehensive throttling test
Runs against 3 different providers, measures download, upload, ping, jitter, and bufferbloat — automatically.
What does this mean?
- Download / Upload
- How fast data flows to and from your device, in megabits per second (Mbps). Higher is better.
- Ping
- The round-trip time to a server. Lower is better — anything under 40ms feels snappy.
- Jitter
- Variation in ping. High jitter causes glitchy calls and laggy gaming, even with fast speeds.
- Bufferbloat
- Latency spikes when your line is under load. If ping shoots up during downloads, video calls and games suffer.
- Multi-server comparison
- If one provider is dramatically slower than others, your ISP may be throttling that specific network or service.
- Verdict
- Green = consistent speeds and stable latency. Orange = the data suggests possible throttling or network management.
